Hello Everyone!
My name is Teresa Sousa and I am 29 years old. I am married and have 2 children. According to map quest I only live 3.98 miles from SRJC. However, my on campus time is limited to when my 3 year old is in preschool so that is why I am trying a class on-line. I have never taken an on-line class before but am excited about the challenge of trying something new.

Aside from the convenience, there are a few other reasons for taking this class.  One, I will be transferring to Sonoma State next fall as a Liberal Studies major.   My ultimate goal is be become a teacher.  I am just not sure what age I would like to teach yet.  The second reason is more for personal enrichment.  I am half Mexican (my father was born in Mexico) but I know very little about my culture due to being in a mixed raced family where culture tends to get a little lost.

Other than being a little culturally confused the family that I come from is very large yet close.  I am the oldest of 9 siblings.  Yes, you read right and it’s not a typo.  We have the same parents, there were no multiples (i.e. twins) and no one was adopted.  My youngest sister just turned 5.  This keeps life very interesting. 

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on your point of view they all still live where I grew up, which is in Atascadero, CA.  This is a pretty small town located in North San Luis Obispo County.  I moved to Sonoma County about 7 years ago and have been here ever since.
